Classical (Legge)Hsien indicates that, (on the fulfilment of the conditions implied in it), there will be free course and success. Its advantageousness will depend on the being firm and correct, (as) in marrying a young lady. There will be good fortune.

A lake rests on the mountain. The centered one keeps the mind free from preoccupation, open to receive the influence of others.
Classical (Legge)(The trigram representing) a mountain and above it that for (the waters of) a marsh form Hsien. The superior man, in accordance with this, keeps his mind free from pre-occupation, and open to receive (the influences of) others.
The Changing Lines
Moved in the great toe.
Classical (Legge)(The subject of this line) is moved in his great toe.
Moved in the calves of the legs. Misfortune. If he remains quiet in his place, good fortune.
Classical (Legge)(The subject) is moved in the calves of his legs. There will be evil. If he abide (quiet in his place), there will be good fortune.
Moved in the thighs. He clings to what follows him. Going forward brings regret.
Classical (Legge)(The subject) is moved in his thighs. He clings to that which follows him. Going forward (in this way) there will be cause for regret.
Firm and correct brings good fortune and prevents all regret. If he is unsettled in his movements, only his friends will follow his purpose.
Classical (Legge)Firm correctness will lead to good fortune, and prevent all occasion for repentance. If (the subject) be unsettled in his movements, (only) his friends will follow his purpose.
Moved in the flesh along the spine above the heart. No occasion for regret.
